Michigan State Rep: Bring Back $600 Child Tax Deduction

A state representative from Grand Rapids is proposing a bill to bring back the tax deduction. 

Representative Winnie Brinks presented a bill last Thursday that will bring back a $600 tax deduction for children that was eliminated in 2011 as part of the overhaul of the tax code. Brinks says that families are struggling here in Michigan, and that this would help them out.

It would have to pass the House, the Senate, and be signed by Governor Snyder.
