Wow. I'd hate to see what would happen if they came home after curfew!

A trio of siblings from Bloomfield Hills, ages 14, 10 and 9 were sent to a juvenile detention center after being held in contempt for not going to lunch with their father.

This all went down at the end of June. The divorce of the childrens' parents has been long and messy; there has been allegations of kidnapping and alienation. When the judge asked one of the children why they don't want to see their dad, he said, "Because he is violent and I saw him hit my mom."

The children and their mother were in court for a hearing about supervised visitation, and when the children refused to apologize for skipping lunch with their dad, Judge Lisa Gorcyca held them in contempt and sent them to juvie...until they are each 18.

*jaw drops*

The judge, according to court transcripts, wants the children to have a "healthy" relationship with their father, and even compared them to the Manson cult. The children are separated from each other in juvie, and their mother is not allowed to visit.

The father of the children is the only person who can get them out; if he feels that they have learned their lesson, they can be released. But he left the day after the trial for work in Israel, and another hearing isn't scheduled until September.

Look, I'm all for kids learning a lesson. But this, in my humble opinion, is absolutely NOT the way to do it. What do you think?
