Police in Genesee County are investigating after residents are up-in-arms over racist and antisemitic flyers that being left in plastic bags in driveways containing an unknown substance.

According to local officials, there has been more chatter and comments on social media than anything else, although they have received several calls from residents concerned about both the unknown substance in the bags and the literature on the flyer itself.

How Are The Racist Flyers in Burton Being Packaged?

The flyers, that are contained in baggies, have the disturbing headline, 'Black Savages Murder White Children'. Below that are photos of alleged victims and their alleged killers next to them. The flyer also has a QR code and a website.

According to police, the website is even worse. A local police chief said, 'It's basically anti-everything.' Not only does the main site also feature incredibly racist content, it's also heavily antisemitic, anti-Biden and anti-Trump. Basically against anything you can possibly think of. We will not provide the website here.

Where are the Flyers Being Distributed in Mid-Michigan?

Apparently, this sort of this has happened in the past in Michigan. But this new wave of disturbances is centered in Burton. But Police Chief Brian Ross says that there have been reports of the same thing happening in Clio.

Chief Ross says that Burton residents can simply throw the bags away or contact the Burton police anytime if you feel uncomfortable disposing of the packages.

Do The Mysterious Pellets Found With These Flyers Pose a Threat to Residents?

The public concern is the pellets that are included in these baggies. They are yet to be definitively identified by authorities.

However the Burton Police Lab has run preliminary tests and they are determined to be harmless.

How Can You Help Police Find The Person(s) Distributing The Flyers?

As police are searching through security footage from businesses and doorbell cameras, they have come up with something. They have identified a grey or silver truck linked to the flyers.

Unfortunately, the cameras are not clear enough to get a license place number. So if you see a suspicious truck in the Burton or Clio areas dropping off baggies in driveways, you are asked to call Burton police.
