Michigan Man Wins ‘Best Beard in America’ Contest
And well-deserved, too. That 'stache though!
Jason Heien, a software engineer who works in Detroit, has won the much-coveted "Best Beard in America" award from Wahl, a company that makes hair clippers for men.
The prize inclues $1,500 and a spot in a national advertisement. He won the contest via voting from Facebook, as well as a panel of judges. He says that it took him just over a year to grow it, and it wasn't hard because he always has a goatee.
He says that he went as Neptune for Halloween of 2016, and after he bought a beard and wore it for a costume, he liked it and decided to grow his own.
And it paid off! Congratulations!
