Michigan Man Fosters 17 Kids, Wins Art Van Award – The Good News
Not only did he foster 17 kids but he adopted six of them.
Ken Baggallay is a single dad who lives in Chesterfield Township, which is just east of here near the Canadian border. His journey into the foster care system came after he got divorced. He'd always wanted kids and realized that he could make a difference.
His first child was 10-years-old and had come from a terrible situation but, after two years, Ken adopted him. He's fostered 17 kids so far and has adopted six of them.
Each of Art Van Furniture's 17 locations gives out $1,000 to an "unsung hero" in their community. Six winners receive home makeovers worth $5,000 and Ken was one of them.
