A Genesee County judge has ruled in favor of residents who have sued the state over the Flint water crisis.

Judge Mark Boonstra ruled on Thursday that the 130-page complaint can move ahead on two counts. It's taken a year for it to be reviewed, but it allows water activist Melissa Mays and other Flint residents to sue the state for health and property damages related to the lead-tainted water.

Two other claims on the suit were tossed out.

There are more than 400 lawsuits against the state that are in flux at the moment.
