Michigan Hockey Player Lends Truck to Opponent To Get Home for Baby’s Birth – The Good News
The two had never met before, and now, the story has gone viral.
Milwaukee Admirals player Pierre-Cedric Labrie got a phone call in the early morning hours of New Year's Eve that his partner, Jana, was going into labor with their son. The problem is, he was in Grand Rapids, getting ready to play against the Griffins.
He was frantic to get back to Wisconsin, so Griffins goalie and Red Wings player Tom McCollum offered up his truck. Labrie was able to drive through snowy conditions to get back to Milwaukee, with about 30 minutes to spare. He was there for the birth of his son at 6:54 PM, whom they named Lionel.
Tom sounds like a pretty great guy! That's DEFINITELY some good news!
