You may have noticed gas prices in the Flint area hovering around $2.79 per gallon. That's a significant increase in the last week or so, but we may see prices hit $3 or more in the coming weeks.

Refinery maintenance, a major pipeline outage, and low gasoline inventories are driving prices up very quickly for drivers in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and Ohio.

Michigan's unseasonably warm weather through September and October extended the good-weather driving season, which upped the demand for fuel. The recent hurricanes which devasted southern states delayed maintenance at refinery facilities, decreasing the supply.
