Shooter Triggers Lockdown At Michigan Hospital
UPDATE: As of 9:50 a.m. police reported that they have the shooter in custody.
A frightening scene is playing out this morning at a Michigan Hospital. Law enforcement is on the scene but the shooter is still not in custody at of 9:05 Thursday Morning.
The incident started in the parking garage at 7:08 when a hand gun was fired five times. This seems to be a confrontation between two hospital employees. Initial warnings sent to staff members at 7:13 a.m. alerted them of an active shooter at Corewell Health Beaumont on Dequindre between Square Lake Road and M-59 in Troy. As employees were told to avoid the area building immediately went into lockdown and schools in the area were placed under a light lockdown.

While this is still an active situation and the shooter is still at large, police are trying to locate the suspect within the massive medical campus. Hundreds of police officers are still searching the building which is still on lockdown, however at a press conference this morning around 9:15 a.m. they don't believe the suspect is still in the building.
Some employees thought this was just a drill and shocked when they found out that this was not a test. Residents are being asked to avoid the area and contact police if there is something suspicious. The area roads are still blocked off.
The 25-year-old victim from Troy was shot in the arm and was in the emergency room by 8:50 a.m, and is expected to recover. Additional suspect and victim information is being withheld as this is still an ongoing investigation.
