Meet the Michigan Man Who Won Powerball Twice in Six Months [VIDEO]
Thomas McIntyre is a cancer survivor. And after a two-year battle with the disease, his latest PET scan showed that the Belleville man is now cancer-free.
But that's only the beginning of his luck. McIntyre is now a two-time Powerball winner.
In October of 2019, McIntyre won a $100,000 prize jackpot playing the Powerball's online game. In April of this year, he cashed in for $250,000 playing Powerball. That's two six-figure wins in six months.
"You never really expect to win a huge Lottery prize, winning for a second time is truly unbelievable," McIntyre said in a press release. "Just like when I won in October, the first person I shared the news with was my mom."
Most of us would love to retire after a big lottery win. McIntyre did it -- but it was simply a coincidence. He'd plan to retire on the day of his 65th birthday and got the good news the day before.
"The timing was so good. I found out I won $250,000 the day before my birthday and the day before I was set to retire," he tells WXYZ. "This will make my retirement so much more enjoyable and take a lot of stress away."
