Could Former Flint Football Star Mark Ingram Head to Fox Sports?

From the second he took the field for Grand Blanc High School to play his first game, everyone knew Mark Ingram II had a fantastic future ahead in football. Rumors are now swirling that Ingram may be hanging up the helmet and picking up the microphone.

After a career that spanned playing out his high school field time at Flint Southwestern Academy, to his Heisman-winning days at Alabama and 13 illustrious seasons in the NFL, most with New Orleans, Ingram may take a new role. According to reports, the running back is reportedly considering retiring to join the broadcast booth at Fox Sports.

Reports are saying that Fox Sports ’ “Big Noon Kickoff” is close to signing Ingram and saying goodbye to Reggie Bush who also played for the Saints. Apparently, this isn't the first time the popular sports network has courted Ingram. Fox has already once tried to get Ingram to retire and join their team, but the standout rusher decided to stay with the Saints.

As of now, the New York Post reports the Fox deal is not yet official, and Ingram may in fact decide to continue his playing career. Fox Sports has declined to comment on Bush and Ingram as well.

During his career, Mark Ingram has had 8,111 rushing yards, 65 rushing touchdowns, 303 receptions, 2,125 receiving yards, and 10 receiving touchdowns. He was also elected to the Pro Bowl three times, in 2014, 2017, and 2019. His NFL playing time has found him in uniform for the Saints, Ravens, and Texans.

Ingram continues to give back to the Flint community with his annual Talent and Skill Development Camp & Sports Competition. The event, presented through the Mark Ingram Foundation, will be held again this year on July 22 at Carman Ainsworth High School.
