Michigan Woman With a Good Feeling About #13 Turns it Into a Big Win

Most of us feel like the number 13 is dreadfully unlucky and should be avoided at all costs. But a Michigan woman who had a good feeling about that oft-dreaded number turned it into a huge lottery win.

The Wayne County woman won $500,000 playing the Michigan Lottery's 50X Wild Time instant game.

Michigan Woman Has a Good Feeling About the Number 13

The 52-year-old player tells the Michigan Lottery she 'had a good feeling' about the notoriously unlucky number 13 and decided to take advantage of it.

"I went to the gas station with $15 in my pocket and had a good feeling about the number 13, so I asked the worker for one of the tickets in the bin labeled 13," she said.

The player, who has chosen to remain anonymous, said the clerk sold her a 50X Wild Time ticket, which she scratched off immediately. That ticket was a $15 winner, so she invested her winnings into another ticket.

Lottery Player Actually Misreads Winning Ticket

As the player scratched off the second ticket, she was delighted to learn that she'd won a sizable prize - then quickly realized that she had misread the ticket.

"I almost had a heart attack when I thought I’d won $50,000, then I put on my glasses and realized I’d actually won $500,000!" she said.

The player went on to say that she's incredibly excited about her winnings and has been dreaming of winning a prize like this for a long time.

How Will She Spend Her Winnings?

The player tells the Michigan Lottery that she plans to buy a house, start a small business, and help her children plan for their futures.
