Maybe you're not craving a turkey dinner in July, but at least you still have the option.

If turkey and all the fixins is your jam, look no further than the Turkey Roost in Kawkawlin, Michigan, just north of Bay City. It was started in 1955 in an abandoned burger hut on M-13. The original owner's name was Clayton Kitchen (love the irony).

Kitchen had visited his brother-in-law's restaurant in New York and decided that a limited menu would be faster and more cost-effective. For a while, the restaurant even had live turkeys in a pen outside.

The restaurant is pink and they don't plan on changing the color because it's recognizable to customers. The menu includes turkey dinners, beef sandwiches, breakfast specials and even seafood on Friday.
