LISTEN: Piper, the Michigan Airport K-9, Signs Off For The Last Time
A life well lived. Have the tissues ready - you've been warned.
Last week, it was announced that Piper, the Cherry Capital Airport K-9 who spent years chasing wildlife off the runway, lost his courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was put down amongst friends and family.
You can hear his owner and airport operations supervisor, Brian Edwards, fighting back tears as he signs off his best friend. It was noted that, moments before the clip was shared, Piper had just chased his final snowy owl off the runway.
It's okay to ugly cry while you listen - I did, too. Rest in peace, Piper. Thank you for your service to the mitten state, and enjoy your retirement on the Rainbow Bridge.
