Large Fire Shuts Down Dort Hwy in Flint [VIDEO]

Just before I got off the air today at 1pm, we got a call in the studio about some sort of fire on Dort Highway.  The caller said she was traveling northbound near Lippincott.  I ventured out to see what was happening first hand, and was shocked to see how huge the cloud of smoke was.

It turns out the fire was on Dort Highway between Carpenter and Coldwater, but the smoke could be seen for more than ten miles.

As I traveled north on Dort just before 1:30pm, traffic was at a crawl. It was a challenge to obtain the photo and video I am presenting to you in this report. That being said, please excuse the video quality. Amidst the chaos with gawkers and emergency vehicles, I noticed as I turned around that Dort Highway northbound had been closed.
