The freshmen team stood up and sang it by themselves, without music.

Prior to the game on Wednesday night, the anthem was played before the JV game, which is common practice - the anthem is played before the game of the highest level of competition when there's multiple games, according to Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools Superintendent Eddie L. Kindle.

But, instead, the freshmen team decided to stand and sing without the music. Their head coach, Bryan Sahr, said that the team thought there was a problem with the sound system. One of the other coaches said that it made him emotional.

Before we get all up in arms, let's admit that they didn't choose NOT to play it; definitely don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill. But it shows great maturity on the part of these teens to stand up and sing on their own. Kudos, great group of young men!
