Shoppers across Michigan will notice a big change starting this month: Kroger is rolling out a new coupon system at all 119 of its Michigan locations, aimed at simplifying how customers save money at checkout.

If you’ve ever stood in line behind someone fumbling with digital coupons, or missed out on a sale price because you didn’t have your Kroger card or hadn’t clipped the deal online—you know how frustrating it can be. That’s exactly what Kroger hopes to fix with this new approach.

Kroger Says Michigan Coupon Update Is All About Convenience

According to a Kroger spokesperson quoted by MLive, the move is all about convenience:

“We are always listening to our customers to create a better shopping experience. To make it simpler for our customers to take advantage of the full value our stores offer, we are providing an easy-to-use flyer that customers can scan to save with digital coupons,” said the spokesperson.

How Kroger's New Michigan Coupon System Works Without the App

  • Flyers with digital deals will be placed near store entrances, next to the weekly ads.
  • ✋ Shoppers who aren’t Kroger Rewards members can take a flyer before they shop.
  • 📄 At checkout—self-scan or cashier—just scan the flyer or hand it to the clerk.
  • 💰 All digital deals will be automatically applied to your order—no app or account needed.

Why it Matters

If you’re not tech-savvy or just tired of juggling apps and cards, Kroger’s revamped coupon policy should be a welcome change.

Kroger’s new savings approach is expected to be in place at all Michigan stores by the end of July.
