Believe it or not, it's already time to start thinking about back-to-school shopping. We're with you. We're certainly not ready to see Halloween displays in July, but mid-summer means school supply lists are already making the rounds.
As Michigan families gear up for earlier alarms and daily homework rituals, Meijer is putting more than two dozen back-to-school essentials on sale for $1 or less.

The Michigan-based retailer is also bringing back its 15% discount for teachers and their digital school supply list tool.

According to AdoptAClassroom.org, teachers spent an average of $895 out of their own pockets on school supplies during the 2024/25 school year, up nearly 50 percent since 2015. To help ease that burden, Meijer will offer select supplies such as crayons, markers, colored pencils, dry-erase markers and more in affordable bulk packaging.
