Kristen Wiig, Next ‘SNL’ Host, Joins Cast for Goofiest Mannequin Challenge Yet
If you thought The Kardashians or Destiny's Child had set unbeatable Mannequin Challenge benchmarks, don't count out 30 Rockefeller Center's new submission — Kristen Wiig and the SNL cast have just upped the ante.
Wiig, who will host the November 19th show with musical guest The xx, appears in a new SNL promo in which she and the sketch show's cast — in keeping with the internet trend — freeze themselves in fixed poses as “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd plays. As the camera pans around the stage, Aidy Bryant tries to keep a bubble fully blown, Cecily Strong remains motionless for makeup and Mikey Day and Bobby Moynihan are perfectly static as a pair of skeletons.
One cast member who seems to have missed the still-life memo? Leslie Jones, who appears in the clip's final frame to observe "Why y'all still still like this? Huh?"
Wiig famously appeared as an SNL cast member from 2005 until 2012. She previously hosted a 2013 episode that featured Vampire Weekend as the musical guest.
Check out the Mannequin Challenge's latest installment, and tell us where you think it ranks among the lengthening list.
