Skydiving was never on my bucket list. Not even close.

But that didn’t stop my very persistent wife from convincing me to jump out of a plane on our recent trip to Kauai.

Do I regret it? Not even a little. In fact…now I’m hooked.

After getting back, I started digging into what Michigan had to offer for skydiving…and I was kind of surprised. There are more places to do it here than you’d think.

Where Can You Go Skydiving in Michigan?

Here are some of the most popular places to check out:

Skydive Tecumseh (Tecumseh)
One of the biggest and longest-running spots in the state.

Midwest Freefall (Ray / near Detroit)
Probably the closest major option for many people in southeast Michigan.

Skydive Grand Haven (Grand Haven)
Known for the views near Lake Michigan.

Capital City Skydiving (Fowlerville)
A solid mid-Michigan option that’s easy to get to.

Skydive Harbor Springs (Harbor Springs)
Great if you’re heading up north.

Skydive Charlevoix (Charlevoix)
Another northern Michigan spot with some unreal scenery.

Is Skydiving in Michigan Worth It?

First-timers usually go with a tandem jump, and yeah…it’s not cheap. But I promise, it’s worth every penny.

You’re typically looking at $200 to $300, and that’s before they hit you with the extras. If you want photos or a video of your jump, that’s going to cost you even more.

Ask anyone who’s done it…it’s one of those experiences you’ll never forget.

And honestly, it’s tough even to explain what it actually feels like.

It might sound crazy, but if you’re ever going to try it, a Michigan summer is probably your best shot.
