Speaking of shoplifting, I accidentally did it once.

Years ago, I was shopping at Sam's Club and found a backpack I liked. I tossed it over my shoulder, finished shopping, went through a regular checkout lane, showed my receipt at the door, and walked out to my truck. It wasn't until I started loading everything up that I realized I never paid for it.

I ran back inside, explained what happened, paid for the backpack, and thankfully everyone was cool about it. My heart was pounding, but at least it was an honest mistake.
