Michigan Auto Law has analyzed the data and released its annual report. Below are the 10 most dangerous intersections in Genesee County.
#10 - Dort Highway at Reid Road - Grand Blanc Township
Total Crashes: 25. Injuries: 5. Anyone that has driven through this intersection knows that making a left on either road can be terrifying.
#9 - Lapeer Road at Dort Highway - Flint
Total Crashes: 26. Injuries: 8.
#8 - Hill Road at Dort Highway - Grand Blanc Township
Total Crashes: 26. Injuries: 10.
#7 - Carpenter Road at Dort Highway - Flint
Total Crashes: 26. Injuries: 18.
#6 - Atherton Road at Dort Highway - Flint
Total Crashes: 27. Injuries: 7.
#5 - Cesar Chavez Drive at East Court Street - Flint
Total Crashes: 27. Injuries: 9.
#4 - Davison Road at Dort Highway - Flint
Total Crashes: 27. Injuries: 12.
#3 - Hill Road at Fenton Road - Grand Blanc Township
Total Crashes: 29. Injuries: 8.
#2 - Corunna Road at I-75 - Flint Township
Total Crashes: 35. Injuries: 9.
#1 - Corunna Road at Linden Road - Flint Township
Total Crashes: 36. Injuries: 7.
The total number of crashes at Corunna and Linden Road is up from previous years. In 2020 there were 31 crashes and in 2021 there were 30 crashes.
Another point is that Dort Highway is just a gauntlet of dangerous intersections with six of the ten on the list. Be safe out there.
