Authorities in Michigan are investigating an explosion at a fireworks tent in Haring Township, north of Cadillac.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 5, 2025, with the first reports arriving at approximately 4:12 AM.

According to a post from the Michigan State Police, when authorities arrived at the scene, the tent was on fire, and fireworks were shooting off.

As you will see in the video below, it was quite a show.

At this time, the incident does not appear to be accidental, and the cause of the fire remains under active investigation. Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen something or has information to contact the Michigan State Police Cadillac Post at 231-779-6040.

Just recently, a tragic incident occurred in North Carolina where an explosion at a fireworks warehouse resulted in the deaths of seven people.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported in the explosion that occurred in northern Michigan. Although there were numerous reports of fireworks-related injuries across the United States over the Fourth of July weekend, this was the only incident reported in the Great Lakes State.

I am all for a harmless prank, and this is not one.

If there are cameras nearby, they might have captured something on video. Sooner or later, whoever’s responsible will have to face the consequences.
