The infestation of rats is becoming a significant problem across the country. While the state of Michigan isn't the worst rat-infested state, there is one major city that is considered one of the worst in the country.

Orkin's most recent data shows the cities across America that are the most rat-infested. The data collected is from September 15, 2020, to September 15, 2021. The cities ranked were based on the number of new rodent treatments performed during that time period.

The pest company has yet to release data from 2022.

What Michigan City Made the Top 10 List?

The data collected found that Detroit is the 8th worst city in America when it comes to its rat infestation. I'm sure that isn't shocking news to Michiganders. According to CBS News, Detroit spends up to $300,000 a year on rat-elimination efforts, including handing out free poison traps to residents.

What Other Michigan Cities Made the List?

Grand Rapids came in at #32, while Flint landed at #34.

It's obvious Chicago has a major problem as they landed at #1 for the 7th year in a row.

It's believed this will help starve the rats.
