Darren McCarty Hosts Grind Time Wrestling Open House in Detroit

Former Detroit Red Wing Darren McCarty is celebrating the grand opening of Grind Time Wrestling Academy’s new training facility in Detroit, which he owns, with an open house and free wrestling show on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026.

The event will give fans a chance to check out the new space, meet McCarty, and enjoy live wrestling as he officially launches the facility.

The open house will run from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Brewster Wheeler Recreation Center, located at 670 Wilkins Street in Detroit.

Guests will have the opportunity to tour the new training facility, meet McCarty, and talk with the trainers, coaches, and staff who help make Grind Time Wrestling Academy one of Detroit's premier wrestling schools.

If you have ever thought about stepping into the ring yourself, you will be able to learn more about the academy's training programs and register for upcoming classes.

The evening will end with a free professional wrestling show featuring the academy's newest graduates as they put their training to the test in front of a live audience.

According to the Grind Time Wrestling Academy website, the program is a 15-week training course that covers all aspects of the wrestling industry. Classes are limited to just 10 participants, allowing for more personalized attention.
