IRS Extending the Tax Deadline Because of Coronavirus
Some good news in a sea of bad news today, especially if you owe the government money.
Hey Americans - you can get a three-month break on paying your taxes. Cool, right?
If you owe less than $1 million or you're a business that owes less than $10 million (I certainly hope you don't owe that much), the deadline to file your taxes is extended by 90 days.
However, if you're getting a refund or want an extension, you're still encouraged to file by April 15th. Make sense?
I'll be honest, I'm confused. Taxes have always confused me. If the government knows how much we owe them every year, why does it fall on ME to figure it out?
