Holly Teen Arrested After SnapChat School Threat
A 17-year-old boy from Holly is being held at the Oakland County Jail after posting a school-shooting threat on SnapChat.
Police say the teen was arrested Wednesday after he posted a photo with the caption, "I feel like shooting up a school today."
Detroit's WDIV reports that Holly Area Schools Police Resource Officer Michael Houck learned of the threat and contacted police.
The boy's name is not being publicised at this time. He's lodged in the Oakland County Jail, pending charges.
Could this have been an empty threat? Absolutely. But teens (and adults for that matter) have to understand that any reference to school shootings, any threat of violence, or anything that could be perceived as putting people at risk will be taken seriously. It's the era we live in. It's the new normal.
