We've had two friends who have had to put their dogs down in the last few weeks, so this is a matter that needs to be taken seriously.

We get it - recalls can be exhausting. It seems like there's a new one every day and it can be hard to keep track of. But recalls happen for a reason, and this is a perfect example.

Two of our friends have had to put their dogs down in the last few weeks; they were in perfect health and then suddenly began to rapidly decline without an explanation. We later found out that they were eating Hill's Pet Nutrition dog food, which is being recalled because of excessive amounts of vitamin D.

It's doubtful that this is a coincidence, so here's the list of recalled cans:
