A man from West Michigan will attempt to take down a two-day champion on the iconic quiz show 'Jeopardy,' airing on Thursday, July 18.

Who is Micah Rahn-Tiemeyer?

You'll see a gentleman from Grand Rapids behind a Jeopardy Lecturn tonight. Micah Rahn-Tiemeyer is a mental health crisis therapist from Grand Rapids. The 38-year-old introduced himself to the Reddit community as a Jeopardy contestant.

"My name is Micah Rahn-Tiemeyer and I will be on the show on Thursday, July 18. I’m happy to join the community of Jeopardy contestants," he wrote. "Wish me ex post facto luck!"

Is this online introduction a sign that he does well on his first episode? Jeopardy contestants are forbidden from spilling the tea on how well they did or didn't do until after their episodes have aired.

Can Normal People Compete on Jeopardy?

Rahn-Tiemeyer says he didn't enjoy watching the game show when he was a kid. He tells Mlive that he used to think normal people competing on Jeopardy was out of the question because they would need to have so much random knowledge.

"I always thought of the contestants as being these, like, these gods," he said. "I didn’t understand how anyone could know so much about so many different things. It just blew my mind then."

It sounds like his perspective has changed in recent years.

A Preview of Tonight's Final Jeopardy Clue

While Jeopardy airs at 7 PM in the Flint and Saginaw area (and other Michigan markets) on WNEM TV-5, the show has already aired in other parts of the US. You're advised to scroll past the following two paragraphs if you want to be surprised by tonight's Final Jeopardy round.

Spoiler Alert Ahead:

I'll give you the clue, (courtesy of JeopardyFan.com) but I will not reveal the correct response. Tonight's Final Jeopardy category is Show Biz Marriages.

"Married since 1977, the year of this band's first album, two members referenced another album with their 2023 'Remain In Love" tour."

Again, I'm not sharing the correct response (you can Google it if you want to appear smart to your family) but the answer is not "Who is Fleetwood Mac?"

Derek Jeter's Childhood Home

Derek Jeter's dad wasn't a baseball player so the childhood home of the baseball legend doesn't scream sports star money. It's a modest, five-bedroom home located in good ol' Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This is the Michigan home where Derek Jeter grew up.
