Flint Non-profit Agencies Feel Wrath Of IRS
More than 250 nonprofit organizations in our community have had their tax exempt status revoked by the IRS for a failure to file annual reports for three years in a row. The local groups include athletic boosters, ministries, and other charitable groups. It could cost you money too, because donations to these groups are no longer able to be used for a tax deduction.A number of the groups on the list seemed unaware of the filing requirements. Flint led the local communities with 149 revoked. Fenton had 21, and Grand Blanc had 20 organizations penalized by the IRS.
