Flint Handmade Leaves Scarves for Homeless Downtown – The Good News
A little bit goes a long way, especially in the winter.
Ever heard of the group called Flint Handmade? They're a local non-profit organization who, according to their website, is "encouraging creative expression and commerce in Flint through handcrafting."
They hold two meetings each month for the Yarn Brigade where they knit and crochet together. They also hold craft markets and craft swaps four times every year.
Just last week, they brought knitted scarves out and placed them on fences near Carriage Town and the Odyssey House with notes that said, "FREE TO A GOOD HOME! If you’re cold, please take me to warm up!”
Not only that, but they do this multiple times per year - they made a "drop" in October, too.
If you'd like to donate items to the group, you can bring them to the Local Grocer during Art Walk in February
