An organized crime ring based in Florida is believed to be moving farther north, and has recently struck victims as close as Livingston County. The group, which primarily targets women, is known as the Felony Lane Gang.

Reports say the crooks have also struck in Farmington, Canton, and Northville.

Det. Scott Rzeppa from the Farmington Hills police department tells WJBK that purses and valuables are often stolen from vehicles, then the stolen credit cards are used to commit identity theft. The stolen IDs and credit cards may be used at the drive-thru bank lane farthest from the teller, which is known in the banking community as the felony lane.
