The little boy from Lapeer County is alive but badly hurt.

This could be any little boy or little girl sledding on a road. It's very dangerous. This happened Monday night on Slattery Road in North Branch Township.  According to the police report here's what happened.

Two brothers, ages 8 and 10, were on sleds being pulled by an ATV driven by their 15-year-old brother. The kids were going north over a hill on Slattery Road. A pickup truck was headed south, toward them.

The truck tried to swerve and avoid hitting the kids but could not. Eight-year-old James McNees was the child who was hit. James is currently being treated at Hurley Medical Center. Police comment off-road vehicles are highly dangerous on roadways. He urges people to keep them off the roads and drive with caution.
