Early Morning Fire Destroys Iconic Swartz Creek Ice Cream Shop
A longstanding Swartz Creek business was destroyed by fire early Monday (10/16) morning. Fire crews were called to battle a blaze at the A-1 Treat Barn, formerly the Dairy Queen on Miller Road.

The building has also served as home to Lorenzo's Pizza since it was acquired by its new owners in 2022.
The businesses, located on Miller Road at Seymour in Swartz Creek, have since been rebranded as Lorenzo's Dip N Dine, to reflect the expanded menu.

Fire Destroys Swartz Creek Business
At this time, few details about the fire are available. An investigator with the Michigan State Police Fire Investigation Unit was on hand this morning, telling Townsquare Media that a cause for the fire has not yet been determined.
Information about the owner's plans to rebuild and eventually reopen is not yet available.
There were no reports of injuries due to the fire.
