Forget Winter, Summer Concert Season at DTE is Looking Great

It's not even Christmas and already thoughts are turning to Michigan's summer concert season. Thanks to DTE Energy Music Theater stacking the bill, you may find yourself already booking up your calendar with some amazing shows.

Slowing, and almost a bit quietly, DTE has been announcing their lineup, and it's pretty impressive so far. Tickets are already on sale for most shows announced, and if you are anything like me, I have already run the card on a few.

The first show, as of right now, to bring concert-goers to Clarkston in 2022 is the indie-pop trio AJR with their OK Orchestra Tour on May 27, 2022. Now, that doesn't mean another show won't slide in and try to do an earlier date in May, but for now, that looks like the kick-off.

The late Eddie Money opened the Pine Knob/ DTE summer season every year since 1992, with his last performance on May 25, 2019. He passed away in September of that year having performed 38 times at the venue, dating all the 2way back to his first concert there in 1983.

June 8- Styx, REO, & Loverboy

June 14- Matchbox Twenty with Special Guest The Wallflowers

June 15- Tears for Fear with Special Guest Garbage

June 18- Steely Dan with Special Guest Steve Winwood

June 30- Nick Cannon MTV Wild n' Out Live

July 2- Jack Johnson

July 3- Barenaked Ladies with Special Guest Gin Blossoms & Toad the Wet Sprocket

July 5- Santana with Earth, Wind, & Fire

July 26- Chicago with Special Guest Brian Wilson

July 27- Rod Stewart with Special Guest Cheap Trick

July 28- Backstreet Boys DNA World Tour

August 26- Keith Urban with Special Guest Ingrid Andress

Of course, the schedule will be added to in the next few months, but if any of these shows are on your bucket list, you may want to make sure to grab your tickets soon! Summer concert season in Michigan is just around the corner.
