Man's best friend, indeed.

Saginaw resident Greg Looney was trying to get out of his chair around 3 AM last October and found that he couldn't move. And that's when their German Shepherd Garrett sprung into action.

He started barking at the bedroom door, where Greg's wife Pam was sleeping. She says that he has never barked like that before; it was frantic and constant. She tried to calm him down, not knowing what was happening to Greg in another room of the house.

Pam said that there was no other noise or indications that something was wrong; her husband hadn't fallen or anything. But Garrett knew that SOMETHING was wrong.

Greg was taken to the hospital where they were able to re-vascularize the brain. And now, Greg and his wife credit their dog for helping to save his life.

Good dog, Garrett.
