DIY Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich: Pat vs. AJ [VIDEO]

We didn't get to try the infamous dish before it sold out, so we decided to try to make it at home.

Should be easy, right? A Popeye's chicken sandwich is simply Popeye's chicken...on a bun, right? Close.

The unofficial recipe calls for a boneless breast, topped with leafy lettuce, spicy or non-spicy mayo and pickles on a brioche bun.

Side note: brioche buns are not easy to find. The closest AJ could get was a baguette.

Also, you can't just "buy" the chicken they used for the sandwich, so we improvised - tender vs. breast.
