Detroit Red Wings Release Design Plans for New Arena [VIDEO]

It's just a piece of land now, but by 2017 the area surrounding Woodward and Henry in Downtown Detroit will be the brand spanking new home of the Detroit Red Wings.

WDIV reports that owner Mike Ilitch's organization released the plans on his 85th birthday Saturday. And a new state-of-the-art hockey arena is just the beginning. The $200 million proposal also includes retail and residential developments.
