Detroit Police Officers Join Father’s Day Block Party

"Hey, we're not here to shut down the party, we're here to be a part of it."

Moregen Leigh, a member of the Detroit Police Department, shared a great post to Facebook yesterday that has since hit the news and gone viral.

She and her partner were on patrol when they saw an outdoors party with a live DJ and kids playing basketball. They turned their lights on, went down the street and got out of the car. They asked the kids if they wanted to play a game of PIG...and were invited to join the party.

Leigh said that she wanted the kids to see that she's a person, too, and not just somebody in uniform. And a job well done, if we do say so!
