Detroit Family Looking for Bone Marrow Donor for 6-Month-Old Son
A Macomb family is desperately searching for a matching bone marrow donor for their son.
Elias was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disorder. It's so rare, in fact, that only 22 people in the entire country have it. Right now, there are no matches for Elias in the US or international registry.
His family is hosting events around metro Detroit called "Be The Match." The next one is this Saturday, February 10th at the Jagged Ford in Rochester Hills from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. A blood test can determine whether or not you're a match.
If you can't make it, they can mail a test to your house. Donors must be 18-44 years old. If you'd like more information, click HERE.
