CBS Orders ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ Pilot

We told you a few weeks ago that there has been some talk over Eddie Murphy bringing his " Beverly Hills Cop" franchise to the small screen.  It's official!  CBS has ordered a pilot from Murphy and Shawn Ryan, the creator of "The Shield."
Murphy will serve as executive producer, and will return as Axel Foley in the pilot.  He could also be a recurring character on the show if it receives a series order.

"Beverly Hills Cop" would focus on Axel's blue-collar Detroit police officer son, Aaron, and his fish-out-of-water efforts to take down criminals in Beverly Hills while living in his father's shadow.
