This is the second year he's done it, and this year, he has even more turkeys to give out.

Tim Look is the owner and proprietor of Frozen in Time Treasures, an estate sales company located here in Burton. He wanted to do something last year to help the community, so he purchased 100 turkeys to give away for free for Thanksgiving.

“That’s bothered me all year. This year, I was able to save up enough money to purchase an additional 50 turkeys.”

Tim saved up $2,000 from his business to purchase the 150 turkeys this year, and he'll be handing them out this Sunday in a socially-distant, safe manner.

The giveaway will start at 1 PM this Sunday, November 15thin the Bendle High School parking lot, located at 2283 East Scottwood Ave. Tim and his volunteers will give away 150 turkeys, one per car, on a first-come, first-served basis. The turkeys all weigh between 10-14 lbs and, with COVID precautions in mind, recipients are asked to stay in their cars.

Tim is hoping that he will have enough money to buy 200 turkeys by Sunday, saying that more people need help than normal this year.

I love what he said about philanthropy - anybody can be a philanthropist. You don't have to have tons of money to do it; just the desire to help others and be a good person. I think it's safe to say that an estate sale business won't likely make you rich, but it gave him enough money to buy turkeys for strangers and that's all it takes.
