It's been a controversial rumor for months, but the iconic Boy Scouts  organization made up its' mind late yesterday.

Were you a Boy Scout or do you have children in Boy Scouts, and how do you feel about this new decision?

The Boy Scouts of America voted Thursday to lift its' ban on gay boys and teens from participating in one of the most iconic youth organizations in the nation. Over 61% of the National Council's delegates voted in favor of ending membership restrictions that keep gay scouts out of their local chapters.

The National Council did not vote on its' ban concerning gay scout leaders, and that does remain in place.

The Boy Scout's policy change is set to go into effect on January 1, 2014.
