There's certainly no guarantee that buying a lottery ticket at Border's is a sure-fire way of striking it rich (I'm writing this column strictly for fun) dropping a few bucks at there sure worked out nicely for these folks.
- On February 20, Dina Russell of Flushing won a $25,000 a year for life prize playing the Michigan Lottery's 'Lucky for Life' game. Russell says she plays Lucky for Life regularly and was thrilled when she scanned a ticket she had in her purse with the app and was thrilled when she saw the winning message pop up on the screen.
- On April 30, a man from Isabella County won $115,000 playing Fantasy 5. The man has remained anonymous but told the Michigan Lottery that the first time he bought a lottery ticket it was from Border's Corner Store.
- The store's big winner won a $1 million prize playing the Black & Gold instant game in January of last year. The Gladwin County woman said she always stops to buy an instant ticket on her way home from work.
