Australian Teen Models To Change Society’s View of Down Syndrome [PHOTOS]

18-year-old Madeline lost 40 lbs, so she started modeling...but that's not the only reason.

Madeline (Maddy) is from Australia. She struggled with her weight growing up. As a teenager, she lost 40 pounds through swimming, dance and cheerleading, so she decided to pursue her dream of being a model.

But she has more inspiration than just the weight loss.

She's using modeling to drive awareness for Down Syndrome. Her mom Rosanne says, "I think it is time people realized that people with Down syndrome can be sexy and beautiful and should be celebrated. People with Down Syndrome can do anything; they just do it at their own pace."
