You probably don't think about the likelihood of getting into an accident each time you jump in your car. But is your car one of the least safe vehicles on the road?

What Determines Most and Least-Safe Cars

Glass Doctor took on the task of poring through a decade's worth of data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to determine the safest, and the least safe cars in the United States, and then they broke it out state by state.

The analysis was based on vehicles involved in the most fatal car crashes from 2011 through 2020, the latest years from which complete data is available. Glass Doctor also used Car Sales Base market share information in order to estimate the number of cars by brand on the road in each state and overall in the US.

National Results

Across the United States, Dodge vehicles scored very poorly, with the brand coming in as the least safe car in 64% of US states.

On the other hand, Subaru vehicles fared well across the United States, with the brand being named the safest car brand in 34% of states in the US.
