Amtrak Train Hits SUV in Flint [VIDEO]

An Amtrak train collided with an SUV near the intersection of 12th St. and Van Slyke Rd. Thursday evening.

The crash occurred around 9:40 pm. No word is available at this time on injuries sustained by passengers on the train or in the motor vehicle, although one Amtrak passenger who spoke to WJRT said he didn't hear or feel the crash in the car in which he was riding. The train slowed to a stop and Amtrak personnel explained to passengers what had occurred.

The intersection was closed for approximately two hours while first responders worked at the scene.
