Everything is different this year, and that includes 'American Idol.' The ABC singing competition show is coming to Michigan later this month -- well sort of.

American Idol will hold virtual auditions via Zoom this month, and August 24 is the day that has been reserved for Michiganders to try out.

Prospective Idols from the Mitten state are encouraged to click on this link in order to sign up and get all the details. Wanna-bes should be between 15 and 28 years of age and willing to audition in front of an American Idol producer on August 24th.

Earlier this year, one of our favorite local singers appeared on American Idol. Genavieve Linkowski appeared on the singing competition in 2018 and earned a golden ticket to Hollywood.

Then in February of 2019, her sister Corinn (who also frequently sang with Genavieve) was killed in a car accident in Atlas Township during a snowstorm. Linkowski shared her story with the judges during her appearance on the show earlier this year.

You can see Linkowski's audition here.
