Steven Tyler, whose new book, "Does the Noise in My Head Bother You" hits bookstores Tuesday. He tells People Magazine, "Left up to my own devices, I probably would have been dead several times over."

Tyler, who has been sober for 18 months, also has had a reputation for fighting with other members of Aerosmith.  In an interview with NBC, he says that there have been threats to throw him out of the band, and that influenced his decision to become a judge on American idol.  "Did I take this job to show the band?" "F---, yeah!"

A week after the memoir is released, a new song will drop.  Hard to believe, but "(It) Feels So Good" will actually be Tyler's first ever solo single in the US.  The video for the new song will make its world debut on American Idol.

The Steven Tyler promotional machine will be hard at work; he'll make appearances on "Dateline NBC" this Sunday, "The Today Show" Monday, and "The Tonight Show" Friday, May 6th.  Hopefully, someone will ask him why he's become such a wimp, afraid to criticize any of the Idol contestants' performances!
