Alpacas Visit Michigan Assisted Living During Quarantine – The Good News
If this doesn't make you smile, you've got a cold, black heart.
It's been super tough for senior citizens in assisted livings and nursing homes lately - their families can't visit because of potential COVID-19 exposure, so they're "connecting" with their visitors through technology and the window.
So if you're granddaughter can visit you through a window, why can't an alpaca?
Nicole and Tim George own IvyLu Alpacas in Belleville, Michigan. They decided to bring Thunder, Finn, and Lego to Cedar Woods Assisted Living to visit the 100+ residents.
They walked the three amigos around the building and stopped at windows to interact with residents. Some of them got out of bed, others talked to them through the window.
How can you NOT smile when there's an alpaca at your window? This is such a wonderful thing to do!
